Trust Before Profit
Sharing with your Community
Sharing builds trust, deepens connection, and is what creates the foundation of strong communities. These communities are what help us feel connected, safe and free.
Throughout my life, I found that when I shared my home or stayed at a friend’s place; the experience was unmatched — the place, price, safety and the entire experience was just better. We created something more powerful than rental profit — trust and connection.
I started MyPlace to share and find places to stay with those I trust, so that together we have more options and flexibility than we have alone.
MyPlace aims to remove businesses from the platform by allowing friends to share with friends — and no one else.
MyPlace is not another short term rental or home swapping site. We are not an open marketplace where hosts compete to rent their places at the highest price. MyPlace is about sharing and community.
Currently, our pre-launch web portal helps our growing community support each other during the COVID-19 crisis. People are sharing long stays at sanctuaries in cities and homes in nature all around the world — every listing in our first Private Group called “The Founding Community” is priced at or below cost (a few are even free for medical workers.)
Now more than ever, it is time to look beyond extracting profit from each other and shift our focus to creating more value within our communities.
